UE Boom and UE Megaboom are in to receive and update that introduces a novel feature dubbed PartyUp. Music fans will appreciate the update, as PartyUp ensures that "more than 50" UE speakers can play the same tune in sync.

Users can craft their sound system using a mix of UE Megaboom, UE Boom and UE Boom 2 speakers. However, the top notch UE Roll and Roll 2 do not join the symphony.

To tap into the raving potential of PartyUp, every speaker has to receive the update. One plus of the new software version is that the pairing of two speakers has gotten much faster.

The app detects speakers using Bluetooth LE, and it can do so even if they are turned off. The icons of the speakers match their exterior color, making it super easy to know which device you are in control of. Dragging a speaker in the main area adds it to the party, while dragging it down removes it.

We are looking forward to seeing the touted 50 UE speaker synced in harmony. Until then, reports indicate that the feature works well with 8 speakers at a time, despite the occasional dropout.

While PartyUp mode is enabled, every speaker tunes in to play the same song. This means that no option exists to match up several stereo pairs, should you want to. Ultimate Ears points out that its app does not aim to challenge Sonos or other home audio solutions.

PartyUp advertises itself as a great way to bump up the atmosphere at parties or at the beach. Users could tap into their DJ skills on a laptop and get a series of UE speakers to flesh out the sound system.

The company even showcases this kind of atmosphere in its press kit, which some are snickering at.

Be that as it may, people seem to enjoy themselves and that is something worth looking forward to.

Ultimate Ears aims to offer PartyUp customers something it calls "Party Packs." The packs are a customizable mix of Boom 2 and Megaboom sets, allowing users to get 2, 5, or 10 speakers at a better price than if they were to purchases the gadget separately.

Keep in mind that the Boom speakers were subject to even more useful updates in the past, as a previous firmware update embedded Siri / Google Now voice control in the Bluetooth speakers.
