Amnesia, one of the world's scariest games ever, will most assuredly extend Halloween for PlayStation 4 gamers as its developers decided that a bundle of its titles will get unleashed upon the platform by Nov. 22.

The PS4 availability of the Amnesia bundle, which includes Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and the expansion game to Descent, Amnesia: Justine, was officially announced on the PlayStation Blog Oct. 19. A dedicated trailer was also posted at YouTube on the same day.

"We never brought Amnesia to consoles. Over the years, we've been close to making it happen, but deals either fell through or we simply didn't have time for it," Thomas Grip, creative director at Frictional Games, said. "It's time to change that."

For those who are wondering what the fuss is all about, Amnesia is a smash hit title that some consider as the king of all horror games. Part of this acclaim could be attributed to the way the gameplay terrorizes players senseless not with jump scares but with a subtle, creeping experience that successfully captures what survival horror is all about.

The most memorable both for fans and for Frictional Games is, of course, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. What made this particular title quite terrifying is the fact that developers omitted the ability of the player to fight back. This feature was also implemented in Resident Evil 7 six years later.

To make matters worse for the player, the developers also gave Daniel, the protagonist, a fear for darkness. This is best seen in the trailer where he is particularly agitated when exploring dark areas of the castle he was exploring.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs was made by British independent game company The Chinese Room. According to Grip, they commissioned this project to know how the studio will interpret Amnesia. While essentially a sequel to the original game, the narrative revolves around different set of characters and takes place in a different time. The game was initially slated to be a two-hour game, but it was said to be so good that it made it to full release.

Amnesia: Justine, on the other hand, is a promotional title built to showcase Valve's Portal 2. Like Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Frictional Games also tapped independent developers to contribute in building the game. It is a lesser known title and features an alternate reality to the Amnesia universe. There are those who note that this game is inspired by the Saw film franchise.

The Amnesia: Collection is now available for preorder at the PlayStation Store for $30.
