After Apple's announcement of the brand new update to iOS 8 for iPad and iPhone users, a plethora of installation problems still plagues Apple.

Once again, servers could not handle the load brought on by so many users downloading the update all at once when it was released, causing numerous errors and server issues. However, as with server load issues in the past, those problems were expected to subside a few hours to a few days after the initial brunt of users finished their downloads.

Battery drainage

What iPhone and iPad users found more problematic are the bug issues that the iOS 8.1 update failed to address. There have been  reports that the update did not fix the extreme slowness of their iPad Mini, and their iPhone 5s continues to suffer from incredibly fast battery drainage.

iPhone and iPad users have also reported that aside from server issues initially encountered on the day of the release of the latest mobile OS, gadgets have been freezing during installation.

Freezing iPhones and iPads

"...installed iOS 8.1 on iPad2 now iPad totally frozen on apple logo. Recovery mode deletes all?" a user stated on one of the Apple Support Communities threads.

"Snap! Done the install it wouldn't work on the Internet so did a restart now stuck on black screen with apple logo. Do they not test this stuff before they ship it out! Help," another user expressed his frustration.

Rebooting

Several iPhone 5s users report rebooting of their smartphones following the update.

"I downloaded and installed iOS 8.1 on my iPhone 5s using iTunes but after it was installed i noticed that it keeps on trying to reboot (Apple Icon then blue background then back to Apple icon and continue looping), is this normal or my upgrade is screwed? What do i need to do? Please help," a user commented.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues

Although the update should have included fixes to the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues, as well as a bug that caused screens to be stuck in landscape mode, some users are still venting out their frustrations over the same problems that iOS 8 brought.

Other issues reported were AirDrop problems, Safari stability, Mail issues, among others.

Apple's iOS 8.1 update was intended to be one of their biggest yet -- with the inclusion of the much-anticipated Apple Pay that went live on Oct. 20. It also boasts new features for messages and a new iCloud Library for the Photos app.

With the latest update just a few days old, rumors of another update to be released next year are already making the rounds. A possible iOS 8.3 is expected to be released in conjunction with the official launch of the Apple Watch in early 2015, and perhaps also finally give Apple users the solution they've been waiting for, to address all the bug issues they've been experiencing.
