Tech analysts were predicting lower sales of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus due to their design looking like those of the previous generation. That didn't stop millions of customers around the world from purchasing Apple's latest flagship iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple opened up its online store for preorders of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at 12:01 a.m. PDT on Sept. 9 in the U.S. The company introduced two new colors to its iPhone lineup, a glossy Jet Black color option and an understated matte black choice. These particular devices with a new paint job almost immediately sold out when Apple began accepting preorders.

Several reports claimed that for the first time ever, the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus was outselling the smaller 4.7-inch model. We recently reported that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus availability and wait times were expected to improve on all models.

iPhone 7 Readily Available

As of now, only the iPhone 7 has become more readily available, showing it in stock all around the country using iStocknow.com. While this is great news for customers who want an iPhone 7, looking at the same map for an iPhone 7 Plus yields much different results. There are practically no iPhone 7 Plus models available in any color, carrier or internal storage configuration when trying to track down the handset at an Apple Store using the iStockNow tracking system.

Taking a trip to Apple's online store will yield great results for anyone who is looking to purchase an iPhone 7 available in any color, carrier and internal storage configuration, as Apple currently lists all of the handsets shipping either in one day, or for same day pickup at an Apple Store.

iPhone 7 Plus Out Of Stock

When choosing an iPhone 7 Plus, the experience is exactly the opposite. Anyone who wants to purchase an iPhone 7 Plus regardless of carrier or internal storage size will have a pretty long wait on their hands.

Apple currently lists the Gold iPhone 7 Plus in 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB configurations with a shipping time of three to four weeks, and it is unavailable to pick up in its retail stores. The Black, Silver and Rose Gold color options in the same configurations also show a three to four week wait.

The most in demand iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is the new Jet Black color option, which features a glossy polished aluminum body. Apple's retail store shows Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus on any carrier or storage configuration will have a four to six week wait, pushing delivery dates deep into the holiday shopping season.
