Onvocal has unveiled a pair of Bluetooth headphones called OV, and it makes Amazon's Alexa accessible at a tap of a button.

While the online retailer's smart assistant already set up home in many devices such as the Echo and even a lamp, this marks the first time that it's found inside earphones.

What OV Can Do: Alexa Skills

Working with Amazon, Onvocal created OV to deliver Alexa's more than 5,000 skills to users via a smartphone app.

That means it can fire up various Amazon services and content, including but not limited to Prime Music and Audible and Kindle audiobooks, with Alexa doing the reading in the e-book app.

More than that, even the skills developed by third parties are added to the mix, including Cat Facts, Expedia, Hardcore History, Beat Cylinder, and many others.

"Now customers can use their OV headphones to access over 5,000 Alexa skills such as Lyft, Domino's, and 7-Minute Workout. Plus, if they're on the go, they can use Alexa to quickly check for nearby movie show times, manage their shopping lists, control their smart home and much more — all just by using their voice," Aaron Brown, director of Amazon Voice Services, says.

That's not all either, as OV features an Ambient mode that lets the user hear outside noise, even when they're wearing the earphones and listening to music.

On top of that, it also has a Voice mode that allows wearers to hear their own voices and the Chat mode that turns on both Ambient and Voice and decreases music volume in a snap.

Preorder Details And Pricing

OV is set to start shipping out sometime in January, and the best part is that it's already up for preorder. However, the downside is that it costs quite a pretty penny, coming in with a $399 price tag.

Interestingly enough, it's still not posted on Amazon at the time of this writing.

Wrapping Things Up

Onvocal is bringing in a nifty way to let consumers enjoy Alexa and her many skills with OV.

Of course, the pair of Bluetooth earphones also works with other assistants such as Apple's Siri, but the accompanying app lets the user call Amazon's assistant with convenience.

Speaking of the Cupertino brand, it's also worth mentioning that these wireless headphones are making the headlines with great timing, as the AirPods still aren't exactly easy to come by.
