Tech Times has already released Part 1 of 2016's best laptops according to specific types of users. In Part 2, we look at laptop models from this year that received much praise from consumers based on their laptop category.

Best Ultrabook: Dell XPS 13

In the $1,400 range is the best Ultrabook for 2016, and it is none other than the updated Dell XPS 13. It comes equipped with the powerful 6th Generation Intel Core with the latest Intel HD Graphics.

Consumers may also opt for the Optional Intel Iris 540 Graphics, paired with the i7 6560U processor should they want a more powerful tool and they happen to have extra cash to spare.

Dell XPS 13  can support up to 8 GB LPDDR3 RAM and has a 256 GB NVMe SSD internal storage and a gorgeous 13-inch UltraSharp QHD+ resolution InfinityEdge touch display. Plus, it runs a Windows 10 OS.

Best Budget Ultrabook: Asus Zenbook UX305F

The Dell XPS 13 is truly drool-worthy, but not everyone who wants an Ultrabook can shell out so much at any given time. That is why, for those who want something more affordable without compromising quality and performance, the Asus Zenbook UX305F is an excellent alternative.

For just under $700, the Asus Zenbook UX305F is equipped with 800 MHz Intel Core M-5Y10c and Intel HD Graphics 5300, an 8 GB LPDDR3 RAM, and a 128 GB SanDisk M.2 SSD internal storage. It has a 13.3-inch anti-glare display and a decent battery life that can reach up to 10 hours.

Best Surface: Surface Pro 4

If there's one Surface book that truly impressed this year, it is definitely the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

The Surface Pro 4 is equipped with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5-6300U and 128MB Intel HD Graphics 520, 8GB RAM, 256 GB SSD internal memory and 12.3-inch 2,736 x 1,824 pixel touchscreen display. It runs a 64-bit Windows 10 Pro. The best news, especially for artists, is that the Surface Pro 4's stylus, aptly called Surface Pen, is now better than ever with its reduced latency and 1,024 pressure levels.

Best 2-in-1 Laptop: HP Spectre x360

The 13.3-inch HP Spectre x360 is hands down the best performing 2-in-1 laptop of 2016. With its Intel Core i7-7500U CPU, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB PCIe SSD hard drive, users are sure to get amazing speed and performance.

The Intel HD Graphics 620 paired with a 1,900 x 1,080 resolution display makes for a great visual experience. At a little over $1,000, the Spectre x360 may seem a little pricey, but it is well worth the price for the 2-in-1 category.
