Tech buffs all around the world who have eagerly been waiting for Huawei's first flagship smartphone of 2017 can heave a sigh of relief.

The Huawei P10 and its bigger sibling the Huawei 10 Plus are set to debut in the coming months and the news comes straight from the horse's mouth — Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group.

According to a report from publication Android Soul, Yu Chengdong has shared that the company is planning to launch the P10 and P10 Plus flagship smartphones sometime between March and April this year.

The Huawei CEO did not disclose too many details but simply mentioned that the P10 and P10 Plus smartphones would be sporting a flat and curved screen, respectively.

So it is expected that the Huawei P10 Plus will boast a dual-edge curved display like the Samsung's Galaxy S7 edge, while the P10 will have a flat display.

With the company's CEO giving a March or April launch window for the smartphones, it seems that Huawei will not debut the successor of Huawei P9 i.e. the P10, at the Mobile World Congress 2017, which is going to take place in Barcelona next month.

The P10 and P10 Plus have already witnessed a fair amount of leaks and rumors. Earlier in November 2016, Tech Times had reported that the Huawei phablet was spotted on GFXBench, which gave a peek into the impending handset's features and specs.

Rumored Specs And Features

Rumors are rife that both the phones will sport a 5.2 to 5.5-inch Quad HD screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. However, some reports suggest that the P10 will carry a 5.2-inch screen size, while the P10 Plus will come with a bit larger screen size of 5.5-inch.

The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus is likely to house an octa-core Kirin 960 processor. If this turns out to be true, then Huawei fans will be in for a great CPU performance as it is widely believed that the Kirin 960 is far better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, as well as the Samsung Exynos 8890.

The memory of the upcoming P10 and P10 Plus smartphones are also expected to see an improvement over the P9. Rumors suggest that the new duo may offer up to 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.

The company as we know is using the Android 7.0 Nougat in it's handsets but this P10 duo may get something more. Rumors have it that the P10 variants will rope in with Amazon's Alexa (digital voice assistant) and will support Google Daydream VR platform.

Renders of the handset that have previously leaked online suggest, that the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus may feature a dual-camera setup with Leica optics. The P9 came with a 12-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper, so it is expected that P10 packs in enhanced capabilities. The primary camera of the P10 is rumored to be 16-megapixel and there is now word on the selfie camera.

Information regarding the battery of the upcoming P10 duo is not available, but it is likely to house a 3,000 mAh or could improve on its predecessor.

The smartphones are also expected to sport a Type-C USB port along with wireless charging support. The duo may also have a fingerprint scanner embedded on its touchscreen and not sport a home button.

Previous leaks have shown off the Huawei P10 in a pink, as well as black hue. The pricing for the smartphones are yet to be known.
