ZTE is looking to launch another smartphone in its Blade V8 range. The smartphone dubbed ZTE Blade V8 Lite has already received Wi-Fi authentication certificate from the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) and looks to hit the market soon.

The ZTE Blade V8 Lite will likely be the successor of the ZTE Blade V7 Lite, which launched in February 2016.

The certificate states that the ZTE V8 Lite is a multi-mode smartphone, operating on Android 7.0 Nougat. It has a 2.4 GHz frequency bandwidth and WPA and WPA2 connectivity.

In an era of high-end, expensive smartphones, the Blade V8 Pro and Blade V8 Lite look to deliver the best hands-on performance possible at affordable prices. The latest Blade V8 Pro was made available for preorders in January and can now be purchased from many retailers.

ZTE Blade V8 Lite

The Blade V8 Lite has been spotted running on Android 7.0 Nougat, which is a sharp contrast to the V8 Pro which comes pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However, since this is the "Lite" variant of the Blade V8 Pro, the other specs are expected to be inferior to that of its sibling.

ZTE, however, remains tight-lipped about the specs of the Blade V8 Lite. However, considering its predecessor sported a 5-inch 720p display, the successor will have the same screen size if not bigger. The resolution too will hopefully get bumped up for the Blade V8 Lite.

The Blade V7 Lite houses a quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor, clocked at 1.3 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. Fans would be hoping that the Blade V8 Lite is equipped with a faster processor and at least 3 GB of RAM. ZTE users would also be hoping that like sibling Blade V8 Pro, the Lite variant also offers 32 GB of on-board storage and not 16 GB, which is expandable to an additional 128 GB via a microSD.

The Blade V7 Lite was equipped with an 8MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP secondary snapper, the Blade V8 Lite would hopefully get improved camera capabilities as well.

Release

Since the Blade V8 Pro has been launched in the U.S. and is available on several retail websites like Newegg, B&H, Amazon and others, the Blade V8 Lite is also expected to hit U.S. shelves when it releases.

Considering the Blade V7 Lite launched in February 2016, ZTE enthusiasts would be hoping that the successor debuts at the MWC 2017 next month. Whether the budget smartphone from ZTE can lure consumers remains to be seen. Hopefully, the company will share more details on the handset in the coming days.
