James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" has emerged as one of the biggest viral video sensations on the web, but which of his famous guest stars has amassed the most views on YouTube for their rides? Adele held the crown a year ago, but have any challengers like Justin Bieber, Sia, Selena Gomez, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars stolen her viewing crown?

In late 2016 it appeared that "Carpool Karaoke" was stronger than ever, with a slew of A list guests including Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, and Madonna gracing the passenger seat of James Corden's singalong ride. But when it came to viewing figures of the popular segments on YouTube, did they match up to previous appearances?

The answer in short, is no. Despite the continued popularity of Corden's segments, none of the big guests that appeared in late 2016 matched the viewing numbers for his previous guests. While it is true that the longer a video has been posted, the more likely it is to garner additional views, the vast majority of views are amassed within the first several months of a star's appearance.

Most Watched "Carpool Karaoke" Videos: Adele, Bieber, And More

With that caveat, Adele far and away remains the most watched segment of "Carpool Karaoke" on YouTube, with over 146 million views and counting. The first of Justin Bieber's three segments with Corden remains firmly in the second slot, with over 104 million views. One Direction's appearance comes in again at third, with 94 million views, followed by Sia with over 75 million views. Sia's placing remains surprising given her lower profile compared to some of the other "Carpool Karaoke" guests, but that can probably be chalked up to viewer's interest in seeing another side to the usually elusive singer.

Bieber's ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez rounds out the top 5 most viewed "Carpool Karaoke" appearances with over 61 million views. That means none of the most recent appearances from the likes of Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Britney Spears (all registering views in the 30 million plus range) have cracked the top, with Madonna's recent ride not receiving even 20 million views as of yet.

In 2017, one star that may break the trend is superstar Ed Sheeran, who recently confirmed he will appear on "Carpool Karaoke" sometime during the year. After breaking recent Spotify one day listening records, can Sheeran do the same with "Carpool Karaoke's" viewing record? Stay tuned!
