HTC launched its new smartphone - the HTC U Ultra - in mid-January this year and the handset is yet to hit the shelves.

HTC has taken a novel approach to promote the smartphone and has released a new video of people trying out the HTC U Ultra in Los Angeles.

In recent years, HTC has fallen behind market leaders like Apple and Samsung. Few of the company's previous devices fell short of expectations and failed to capitalize upon the market demands. HTC would want to attract smartphone enthusiasts with its new promotion strategy.

Specs Of The HTC U Ultra

The device boasts a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and comes equipped with a quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.15 GHz. The phone also offers 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage which is expandable to upto 2 TB. It also supports Adreno 530 GPU.

As for the camera, the phone is equipped with a 12MP rear camera and 16MP selfie camera. The primary camera comes with PDAF, laser focus and many such attributes.

The latest HTC offering packs a 3000 mAh battery, which offers up to 26 hours of talk time on 3G/4G and up to 13 days of standby time.

Although the HTC U Ultra comes packed with top-end features, it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, which has attracted fair share of criticism.

The HTC U Ultra runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat and is available in four hues: black, white, blue and pink.

Reaction Of The Fans

The video published by HTC on YouTube has managed to garner mixed reviews of smartphone enthusiasts.

"Beautiful design and color. HTC always makes great devices. they just need better marketing strategy," commented a YouTube user.

"You guys need a fresh start. I admired you once upon a time for your slick software and top notch hardware," said another user.

So it seems that the HTC mobile phone has successfully lured some fans while others still prefer Samsung and Apple handsets. However, it is still early days to write off the HTC U Ultra. Aside from its lack of the 3.5mm headphone jack, the device does not have too many weak points.

The future of this device can only be contemplated and HTC would be hoping that the smartphone finds favor with consumers.

The HTC U Ultra has a price tag of $749 and is available for preorder from the company's official website.
