At this point, it is safe to say that Fire Emblem Heroes is bound to follow Super Mario Run's success and, if you are reading this, you are probably one of the millions who have already installed the app.

Now, it is a competitive game, so it makes sense if you want to get ahead fast. Is there a way to do that?

The simple answer is yes, since given the right strategy, you can level up fast and get more orbs to summon more heroes.

Spoiler Alert

There are probably those who would say that a walkthrough is tantamount to a spoiler, preventing players from discovering and exploring the game on their own. That is a very good point.

Remember, however, that the Fire Emblem franchise has been around since the early 1990s so it is practically ancient in game years. You will therefore encounter players who are familiar about the heroes, their skills, and the game mechanics overall. Evolving heroes could also prove to be hard. So bumbling your way around is not exactly the best way to move forward.

So how do you level up fast?

Gaining Experience

Like in many online role-playing games, Fire Emblem characters can be leveled up by gaining experience. You can basically do this in two ways. The first involves good old grinding. You will gain experience simply by fighting and, better yet, winning battles. You can also earn more experience by consuming orbs, but more about this later.

While you can fight your way to grow your characters, there are other ways available even in the early stages of the game to enable you to get more experience.

The first involves an item called Torchlit Castle. Just head to the Shop menu at the bottom of the screen and tap Upgrade Castle. You will find the item there being sold for one orb. If you purchase it, the upgraded castle will let you earn 20 percent more experience.

If you have more orbs later on, you can also buy the item's next iterations, which provide more experience rates. The item called Columned Castle, for example, will give you a 40 percent experience boost.

Another effective method to level up fast is by fighting in the Training Tower. You can do this after completing Chapter 1 in the Story Maps. Each level, which the game calls Stratum, will provide higher experience than normal maps.

If you are ready, just choose any level that your team can handle, then play the level repeatedly. It will give your characters experience and what is even cooler is that fighting will sometimes yield shards and crystals. The former is used to upgrade characters until level 19. The crystals, on the other hand, can be used to upgrade level 20 heroes and above.

Interestingly, the type of loot you earn depends on a schedule. For example, in the most recent info posted by Nintendo in the Notification section, you can earn crystals and shards for red attribute heroes Tuesday to Wednesday. Pay attention to your notification panel for changes and you can open it via the bulletin board icon in the Home Screen.

Finally, streamline your gameplay. If you are doing battle, activate the Auto-Battle mode. You can toggle this through the dedicated Settings menu found at the bottom left corner of the screen. You can also turn the animations off in the Settings menu inside the Miscellaneous section.

How About Fire Emblem Orbs?

If you have played Fire Emblem Heroes for some time already, then you would know that orbs are very important. Aside from summoning heroes you will need these to buy items and upgrades. You can buy a whole bunch of them if you have cash but if you would like to hold on to your wallet for now, you can find extra orbs aside from the initial 15 allotted to you at the beginning of the game.

You are entitled to 10 orbs, for example, if you link your Nintendo account to the game. You also get one every time you finish a Story Map. Nintendo also promises that you get orbs just for logging in. In celebration of its recent launch, the game will give you two orbs daily.

Finally, always do quests and join events especially those listed with orbs as rewards. You can check for these by clicking the fountain in the Home screen.
