The BeatsX wireless earpbuds, which was unveiled by Apple alongside the AirPods in the announcement of the iPhone 7 in September 2016, is finally ready to launch.

After being delayed for several months, Apple announced that the BeatsX wireless earphones will be available in the United States starting Feb. 10.

BeatsX Release Date On Feb. 10

The arrival of the BeatsX, which was also announced by the Beats By Dre account on Twitter, ends the wait for the wireless earphones.

In Apple's announcement of the iPhone 7, wherein it was confirmed that there will be no headphone jack in the company's latest flagship smartphone, three Beats products were unveiled alongside the AirPods as options for headphones that customers can use with the iPhone 7.

BeatsX Delayed Like The AirPods

Like the AirPods, the BeatsX wireless earbuds saw a delayed release date. It was previously said that the BeatsX will be released in the fall season of last year, but after Apple did not mention any updates regarding the wireless earbuds as fall passed, emails sent to customers revealed that the BeatsX was delayed by at least two to three months.

This is the same story for the AirPods, which was expected to be released in October 2016. Reports claim varying reasons for the delay, including problems on getting Bluetooth technology to work properly on the AirPods so that the signals arrive at the same time and issues in the manufacturing line.

Apple also has not revealed an official reason on why the BeatsX was delayed.

BeatsX Wireless Earbuds Details

In addition to the delay, the BeatsX shares the same wireless chip that powers the AirPods. Apple's W1 is a low-energy chip that allows the earbuds to pair more smoothly with iOS devices, while also providing higher battery efficiency. Users will also be able to connect to several iOS devices at once, and can switch between the connected devices on which one to listen to. The BeatsX will work with non-iOS devices too.

The BeatsX also features Fast Fuel quick charging technology, which allows it to accumulate battery worth two hours on a charge that lasts for five minutes. If a user forgets to charge up the BeatsX for whatever reason and it suddenly loses power, this technology makes sure that the wireless earbuds are back in operation in no time.

The BeatsX wireless earphones are a great alternative for users who are overly concerned that they might lose the AirPods, as the earbuds of the BeatsX are connected to each other with a cord and an in-line remote. The neckband-style design does more than prevent the BeatsX from being easily lost though, as the collar allows the wireless earphones to have a larger battery. Compared to the battery life of five hours for the AirPods, the BeatsX is expected to last for up to eight hours on a single charge.

Apple will sell the BeatsX wireless earbuds through both its online and physical stores for $149.95. Select retail partners will also be selling the wireless earphones, which will initially come in black and white but with blue and gray options said to be coming soon.
