Motorola is running a new promotion for its modular Moto Z smartphone. Customers who purchase the handset from the company will receive a free Hasselblad True Zoom or Insta-Share projector, which normally costs $299.99.

Mobile World Congress kicks off on Feb. 27 in Barcelona and some of the biggest smartphone makers are going to debut new handsets. LG will officially take the wraps off of the LG G6 and unlike last year's modular LG G5, the new smartphone will no longer feature a modular design. Motorola is also planning to launch new mid-range handsets, including the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus.

Motorola Does Modular Smartphones Right

While LG's modular concept never took off with smartphone fans, Motorola achieved success with its flagship Moto Z lineup, which have the ability to snap on accessories called Moto Mods. Motorola is now offering a great deal when purchasing a Moto Z from the company's online store.

Customers who purchase a Moto Z can use a promotional code to score a free Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod or a free Insta-Share projector that snaps onto the back of the smartphone. The Hasselblad Moto Mod allows users to enhance the smartphone's camera while providing 10X optical zoom.

The Insta-Share projector can be used to project content as large as 70 inches on any surface, perfect for bringing your content to the very big screen. Both Moto Mods currently sell for $299.99 each, which is perfect for anyone wanting to get on the Moto Mods train without spending a ton of money on high-end Moto Mods.

Moto Z Specs And Features

The Moto Z features a 5.5-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 535 pixels per inch and constructed out of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. The handset is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and 4 GB of RAM. There's also a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for video chats and selfies. The handset ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow but can be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Like Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the Moto Z does not feature a 3.5mm headphone port but Motorola includes a 3.5mm to USB Type-C adapter in the box so you can use your favorite headphones with the smartphone. The device uses a 2,600 mAh non-removable battery that provides up to 30 hours of use and supports TurboPower charging, which will give the handset up to eight hours of battery life with a 15-minute charge.

Motorola claims the Moto Z is the world's thinnest premium smartphone, measuring in at 6.04 x 2.96 x 0.20 inches and weighing in at 4.80 ounces.
