Spotify is relocating its headquarters to New York City and to celebrate the move, Governor Andrew Cuomo has shared his personal playlist.

The Governor of New York took out time from his political commitments and shared his 36-track Spotify playlist with the public. This was done on the occasion of the relocation of Spotify's U.S. headquarters to the World Trade Center in New York City.

"We are proud to welcome Spotify to 4 World Trade Center and to have the future of music be a part of the bright future of our dynamic tech community," said Cuomo.

Cuomo's Excelsior Vol.1 Playlist

To mark the occasion, Governor Cuomo shared his Spotify playlist named "Excelsior Vol.1." This was the first playlist he made for Spotify, which included songs for New Yorkers.

The playlist is an interesting mix of songs like Talkin' New York by Bob Dylan, Til It happens To You by Lady Gaga, the post 9/11 anthem The Rising by Bruce Springsteen, Gimme Shelter by Rolling Stones, Work For The Working Man by Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder's Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours), Alicia Key and Jay Z's Empire State of Mind and more. Some of the tracks are the ones that his daughter had chosen for him.

While putting together his entire list Cuomo included four songs by his friend Billy Joel namely New York State of Mind, Downeaster Alexa and two more.

In the past, Spotify had approached former President Barack Obama to create a playlist for the streaming service. He did make several summer playlists as well as one for his work out sessions. Joe Biden followed suit and made a favorite summer playlist for himself as well.

Spotify has always been bringing surprises for its fans, experimenting with new modes to provide the best quality of entertainment to its users. In 2015, it came up with a new feature called Daily Mix after Discover Weekly. It comprised a series of playlists containing all the favorite songs of a user along with some recommendations from Spotify itself, which the app thinks will match with their musical preference.

Despite political engagements, politicians do indulge in music that helps them break the monotony and unwind. With several songs lined up, it seems that Governor Cuomo is all set to immerse himself in the delight of a musical journey on Spotify whenever he gets time from his busy schedule.

Even Michele Obama had come up with her Playlist to celebrate girl power on United Nations' International Day of the Girl. Her playlist contained songs depicting women empowerment along with songs by Diana Ross, Jessie J., Ariana Grande, Billie Holiday, Destiny's Child and many more.

Spotify's relocation to 4 World Trade Center in New York provides 1,000 new job opportunities and also retains 832 other workers.
