ZTE Confirms Event For MWC 2017, New Nubia Smartphone Launch On The Cards

ZTE has officially announced that it will be launching a new Nubia smartphones at the upcoming MWC 2017. Rumors are rife that the smartphone in question could be the Nubia Prague S2 the successor of Nubia Prague S.  ( Kārlis Dambrāns I Flickr )

ZTE has finally confirmed its presence at the upcoming MWC 2017 event. It is expected to unveil with its much-talked about sub-brand Nubia at the event.

Having sent out its confirmation for the upcoming event, the company is all set to steal the thunder from some other OEMs. ZTE, however, has not confirmed when exactly its event is slated for.

Nevertheless, people will be able to catch a glimpse of the ZTE smartphone at 7A11, Hall 7, Fira Gran Barcelona per the teaser.

Even though ZTE has not yet confirmed as to which device it shall showcase at the MWC, rumors are rife that its shall debut the Nubia Prague S2, which is the successor of the Nubia Prague S.

ZTE has previously shared that it is working on new concept phones, calling them the world's first ground-breaking concept mobile phones.

The latest ZTE teaser does not elaborate on what these ground-breaking mobile phones would be in terms of appearance or functionality, leaving fans in anticipation.

ZTE Gigabit LTE Smartphones

All that could be deciphered from older rumors is that these supposed ground-breaking smartphones would be the first gigabit LTE smartphones, because of which some are even calling it the ZTE Gigabit Phone.

The first LTE gigabit supporting devices were introduced in 2016. The company has mentioned bits of information such as the upcoming device may be having a 360-degree virtual reality assistant, 4K video along with cloud storage facilities.

"The ZTE Gigabit Phone is revolutionizing connectivity with a new standard of download speeds, 1Gbps, bringing a qualitative leap to a new world of mobile experience by making 360 degree panoramic VR video, instant cloud storage, entertainment upgrades and fast cache of ultra Hi-Fi music and movies possible," noted the company. 

Even though it may be too early for a 5G device but reports suggest that ZTE is taking us a step closer to it with its upcoming new phones.

It is planning to bring the most "forward-looking smartphone" which focuses on 5G evolution..

While the company's invite has not mentioned any model number or name, it is also expected that rumored handset on the cards is the ZTE BA602, which was spotted on TENAA and is expected to be launched in the MWC 2017 event as well.

ZTE is also expected to debut the Blade V8 Lite at the MWC this month per previous rumors.
