Blizzard may have just teased the 24th hero joining the good fight in Overwatch via an interview by Atlas News, the game's in-universe news outlet.

In a blog post, 11-year-old Numbani native Efi Oladele has been put under the spotlight, highlighting her "impressive achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence" and her recently won genius grant from the Adawe Foundation.

That said, the inventor might be the creator of the next hero, possibly an Omnic spider tank.

Wait, So Oladele Isn't The 24th 'Overwatch' Hero?

Oladele is unlikely going to be the next hero in Overwatch, not exactly. It's probably going to be one of her inventions, which may be the Omnic spider tank.

It's going to be really odd if Blizzard lets an 11-year-old run around the battlefield shooting down other people and getting shot down too. The company may take some flak if it does anything like that, just like the time with Symmetra's Devi skin and Tracer's controversial butt pose.

Where Did The Idea Of This Omnic Spider Tank Come From?

Overwatch fans have already started posting speculations on Reddit and the Battle.net forums.

First off, one thread in particular on Reddit mentions the leak of the Year of the Rooster event, and it included a bit about an upcoming quadruped Omnic tank hero named Anchora, who is also from Numbani like Oladele.

Backed by a leak and reasonable guesswork, this makes for one heck of a theory.

Second, Sombra's Origin video may have left a huge clue that points to an Omnic spider tank, which can be checked out below:

On top of that, Oladele's response to one of the interviewer's questions is more or less in line with that idea.

"I want to create things that make our lives better. And someday, my dream is to build something that can keep us safe, like the new OR15s! I think that would be great," she says.

To put two and two together, it's safe to expect a creation of Oladele to join the ranks of Overwatch instead of her.

What About The Possibility Of An Older Oladele?

Interestingly, there are also talks about the interview happening in the past and that an older version of Oladele is going to be added to the roster. However, Michael Chu, Overwatch lead writer, has already dispelled that possibility.

What Happened To Doomfist?

Apparently, Doomfist is unlikely to be the 24th hero in Overwatch, according to Game Director Jeffrey Kaplan's response in a Blizzard thread, when he was jokingly asked by a user to list down the heroes in development.

"24 is not who you think it is," he said.

Before all that happened, though, many believed he was next in line, and with good reason too. First, there was the hint in the Public Test Realm or PTR update, and second, there was Terry Crews's "audition" for the role and voice line performance.
