Xiaomi Mi 6 Set To Launch On April 16, Snapdragon 835 CPU In Tow
The much rumored Xiaomi Mi 6 will reportedly be launched in a few weeks and fans in the U.S. will be hoping that the successor of the Mi 5 makes its way to U.S. shores.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is possibly one of the most awaited phones of 2017 and people are expecting great things out of the handset, which has been subject to several leaks.
Now reports suggest that consumers could soon be greeted with the launch of the smartphone.
When Will It Debut?
Per a report from GizmoChina, the purported launch of the smartphone will be held on April 16. Another rumor which has been floating around is that the phone is going to be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor.
It was previously speculated that Xiaomi could under-clock the processor in the Mi 6 but that does not seem to be the case. The Snapdragon 835 chipset looks quite powerful and this is great news for tech buffs all around the world.
As reported earlier, Xiaomi is keen on launching the Mi 6 in the U.S. Hugo Barra, the former Global Vice President of Xiaomi had hinted that the company could launch its future handsets in the U.S. as well.
The Rumored Specs
The report also says that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will likely come with a 5.2-inch LCD screen and will be launched in three variants. One of the variants is rumored to have a ceramic body, similar to that of the Mi 2.
The next generation handset from Xiaomi is said to have a 19MP rear camera, indicating that it will be able to shoot 960 fps slow motion videos at a resolution of 720p.
The entry-level model of the Xiaomi Mi 6 will house 4 GB of RAM and an internal memory of 32 GB. The mid-level variant will feature 4 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64 GB, while the top-end model will likely house 6 GB of RAM along with an internal storage of 128 GB.
If reports are to be believed the Mi 6 launches is expected to be priced at around $289 (CNY 1999) and the ceramic version of the phone would cost approximately $362 (CNY 2500).
Xiaomi will have high hopes from its impending flagship smartphone and would look to cement it place in the consumer market in other countries. The company's popularity has witnessed a decline of late and the success of the Mi 6 will be vital for the company to edge past its competition.
The launch in the U.S would also likely enhance Xiaomi's image and revenue and help it assert itself as a forced to be reckoned with in the hotly-contested smartphone space.
