Tag Heuer Teases Upcoming Smartwatch Running Android Wear 2.0
Tech Times had earlier reported that TAG Heuer may launch its Android 2.0 smartwatch on March 14 instead of May. It seems that the rumor was indeed true as TAG Heuer has teased fans worldwide with a still image of its upcoming smartwatch.
The teaser came in the form of an image that the Swiss watchmaker shared on Twitter with the caption "March 14, Stay Tuned." The teaser does not come as a surprise as it was no secret that TAG Heuer was indeed getting ready to launch a new smartwatch this year.
Moreover the rumor of March 14 launch was in the air almost a month ago. So fans were kind of expecting the watchmaker to drop a hint around this time.
The TAG Heuer Smartwatch
The Twitter teaser from TAG Heuer will have fans waiting for the new wearable with bated breath. The arrival of the Android Wear 2.0 powered smartwatch would put it in the August company of the not-so-premium LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport smarwatches, which deploy the same operating system.

What's In A Name?
The upcoming TAG Heuer smartwatch running on Android Wear 2.0 has been given the name TAG Connected Modular. People were initially curious on the inclusion of the word "Modular" in the name of the smartwatch.
It was later clarified that the smartwatch may come with changeable watch cases, which may allow the user to alter the Android Wear 2.0 powered wearable's body with a more traditional watch body, depending on mood and occasions.
The upcoming TAG Heuer smartwatch is rumored to come with many exciting features like clasps in various color tones, swappable watch straps and many more. However, all may not be so rosy as the changeable straps may come to market as add-on items and users may have to shell out bucks for them separately.
TAG Connected Modular is expected to run on Android Wear 2.0 and may come in two variants based on the size of the watch. Jean-Claude Biver, head of TAG Heuer in an interview had stated that the watch will come with features like GPS, longer battery life, better reception along with an enhanced screen display.
Users can also expect an Intel SoC to be housed in the smartwatch as TAG Heuer did close a deal with the company in December 2016. However, according to Biver, the chipset may be manufactured in Switzerland.
Price And Release
Although the world has an idea about the specs and features that TAG Connected Modular comes with, there has been no news regarding the price of the impending smartwatch. However, given the fact that it will be coming with many high end specs, one can expect the price of the smartwatch to be quite expensive.
