Stephen Hawking Gets Opportunity Of Space Travel From Sir Richard Branson
Stephen Hawking, the 75-year-old cosmologist and physicist is supposedly traveling tospace. He is reportedly set to journey to space with Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic.
Virgin Galactic, the spaceship company belonging to Branson, is planning to take crew into space on commercial missions. Branson revealed that he could possibly complete a flight in 2009, but unfortunately that plan did not work out due to a series of obstacles and mishaps.
An Encounter With Professor Hawking
In a statement on Good Morning Britain, Hawking expressed his surprise and told that he never thought he would be able to travel to space. A visibly pleased Hawking shared that "I thought no one would take me but Richard Branson has offered me a seat on Virgin Galactic and I said yes immediately."
A philosophical Hawking discussed happiness and what is its meaning in his life. He mentioned his three children and shared that they were the biggest reason for his happiness.
Even after turning 75, Professor Hawking is continuing his passion and is a constant feature in the lecturing circuit. He gave an impressive lecture about black holes in Oxford, England on Jan.18.
In his opinion, people who exhibit their IQ are losers. Hawking is an inspiration for many as he always gives earnest advice such as "However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at."
Political Views Of Professor Hawking
Professor Hawking also mentioned the incident about Donald Trump where he addressed him as "demagogue." This incident has made him fear that he probably would not be allowed to enter U.S.
He also criticized British politician Jeremy Corbyn and said he shows everyone that he is a left-wing extremist, but in reality he is not. Due to media representation, Corbyn has very less chances of winning an election ever per Hawking. However, he added that he will continue to support the Labor party.
As he was discussing different political issues, Hawking mentioned Brexit as well. He said that if it is necessary for Brexit to happen, it cannot happen in the manner in which the right wing of the Conservative party wants. If it happens like this, Brexit will make Britain "isolated and inward-looking."
Hawking also asserted Britain keeps every possible links with Europe, as well as with the rest of the world. He said that if Britain leaves the European Union then it "threatens Britain's status as a world-leader in science and innovation."
