Meet Sony Xperia L1: Budget Smartphone With Android Nougat And 2 GB RAM
Sony has taken the wraps off its latest offering - the budget friendly but power-packed Xperia L1.
The Xperia L1, which runs on Android Nougat, was unveiled by the company on March 20.
The latest handset from Sony may be part of its Xperia lineup, but the Xperia L1 bears no resemblance to the Xperia L, which released in 2013.
Features Of The Smartphone
The smartphone is just 0.3-inch thick and weighs 6.34 ounces. The Xperia L1 sports a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. Sony asserts that the phablet is comfortable to use despite is massive size
"Xperia L1 is not just a pleasure to behold. With its smooth, rounded frame, it fits and feels great in your hand," notes the company.
Under the hood, the Xperia L1 houses a quad-core MediaTek 64-bit MT6737T processor, which is clocked at 1.45 GHz and offers 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone also supports Mali-T720 MP2 GPU.
The XPeria L1 offers 16 GB of onboard storage space, which is expandable up to an additional 256 GB courtesy the microSD card slot.
The entry-level Sony phablet also packs in a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED support. The primary camera also supports f/2.2 and has a 3x clear zoom
The Xperia L1 flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 and 3x Clear Image Zoom. The device also flaunts a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie lovers. The secondary snapper supports a 24mm wide lens.
The NFC capable Sony handset is equipped with a non-removable 2,620 mAh battery. The battery also offers support for Qnovo Adaptive Charging per the company. It also supports STAMINA mode, which aids in saving battery and deploys USB Type-C.
The Xperia L1 also supports Clear Audio+ and stereo recording, which will find favor with audiophiles.
One of the most exciting features of this device is its Smart Cleaner functionality. This feature basically keeps your device free from unused applications, clears cache, and ensures top class speed.
The device is adaptable and operates according to the user's habits "getting smarter and more personal everyday."
The Xperia L1 will come pre-loaded with Android Nougat, but Sony has not detailed which version.
Release And Availability
The Sony Xperia L1 is expected to launch in Europe, Middle East, Africa, North America, Asia, and Latin America in end April.
The smartphone will be available in three hues: black, white, and pink. Though Sony has uploaded the images as well as specifications of the device on its official website, it has not shared ant details on the smartphone's pricing. However, the company has asserted that the device will be "affordably priced."
