Cartoon multiplayer shooter-brawler hybrid Drawn to Death is launching on April 4 for PlayStation Plus members, who will also be receiving a few other titles in the monthly refresh of the free games offered by the subscription and network service.

The launch of Drawn to Death as a free PlayStation Plus title mirrors the release strategy of Disc Jam, described as "an insanely addicting cross between air hockey and tennis" and viewed as the next Rocket League. Disc Jam was offered as a free PlayStation Plus game last month, similar to how Rocket League was launched in July 2015 for free to PlayStation Plus members.

Free PS Plus Games For April 2017

Drawn to Death, described by game director David Jaffe as a cross between Super Smash Bros. and Quake, features unconventional gameplay mechanics and graphics. The game takes place within the pages of the notebook of a high school student, and so the characters and environments are portrayed as hand-drawn.

Drawn to Death is being launched for the PlayStation 4 under the free games of PlayStation Plus for April 2017.

Another title that will be offered as a free game to PlayStation 4 gamers is Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, a co-op title that can have players team up with up to three others in piloting a neon battleship through a colorful galaxy. Players will be tasked to defeat aliens known as the Anti-Love, rescue space bunnies that were kidnapped, and to survive their flight through space. Gamers can also play Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime with their friends online through the Share Play feature of the PlayStation 4.

For PlayStation 3 owners, the free PlayStation Plus games for the month are Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom and Alien Rage - Extended Edition. Meanwhile, for PlayStation Vita owners, the free titles are 10 Second Ninja and Curses 'n Chaos, both of which are crossbuy games with the PlayStation 4.

The games will be available for download starting April 4. There are still a few days remaining for the availability of the free games offered by PlayStation Plus for March, so players looking to get Disc Jam while it is free should start the download right away.

Are The Free Games From PlayStation Plus Getting Worse?

There seems to be a growing sentiment among PlayStation owners that the lineups of free games being offered by PlayStation Plus are getting worse, especially as there have been very few so-called triple A titles being included over the past several months. This has become a sensitive topic especially after the annual PlayStation Plus membership fee increased by $10 in the middle of last year.

However, it should be remembered that the total value of the free games being offered under the PlayStation Plus subscription will be far higher than the $60 annual fee, which is great value on top of enabling online play for PlayStation gamers.

For this month, Drawn to Death could very much turn out to be a great title and, combined with Disc Jam from last month, represent two games that are worthy additions to any gamer's library.
