Game of Thrones season 6 left fans with a flurry of dread and excitement as Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, and the Night King rose to power, and hinted at the inevitable and massive war that will soon happen in season 7.

Now HBO is hyping up fans for the premiere of season 7 in July by releasing the first official promotional trailer aptly titled "Long Walk."

Destruction Of Houses

Early in March, HBO also released a Game of Thrones teaser featuring the House sigils. which had a very ominous feel to it, and the official promo trailer follows this move.

If you haven't seen it yet, watch the video below.

Long Walk

The Game of Thrones trailer runs for one and a half minutes, with much of the video showing Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Cersei Lannister taking a walk— or a murderous strut for Cersei — to their respective thrones in Winterfell, some unidentified base, and King's Landing.

Unlike the season 6 trailer which had Tyrion narrating as a voiceover, season 7 is silent, save for the haunting and eerily perfect song titled "Sit Down" playing in the background.

We do witness Jon taking a seat on the throne in the Great Hall of Winterfell and Cersei owning that Iron Throne in King's Landing, but what actually raises the chills for fans is the fact that Dany also just sat down a throne which seems to be carved out of stone. Remember that closing shot of the last episode of season 6 where Dany is at sea with a huge fleet following her and Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion flying up above? No, the trailer just confirmed that Dany has landed and is lurking somewhere in or near Westeros.

It is interesting to note that a huge number of candles are lit along the path Jon, Cersei, and Dany are taking to their respective thrones, perhaps as a source of light and heat. Then comes the chilling part — and we're not talking about Cersei's creepy and content expression.

As the camera zooms out, Cersei exhales a cold mist, though it doesn't look like the effect of her cold heart, but a portent of the war Jon is preparing for because the scene zooms further out to reveal that what all fans just witnessed came from within the eyes of the Night King.

Yes, winter is definitely here and the Night King is watching.
