Video game developer 343 Industries announced that it is delaying a patch fix that is meant to resolve the issues on the multiplayer matchmaking version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The announcement was made on the official Halo Waypoint site.

The patch is meant to deliver a number of fixes across the game title, which include matchmaking performance issues, game stability and general UI. These issues have been affecting game players since the title was launched last week.

"We are aware of the issues players have been experiencing with matchmaking and we're working around the clock, alongside the Xbox Live team, to improve the situation," said Halo Waypoint in a blog post. "We have deployed an update that has shown some improvement, and we continue to optimize the experience. The update deployed to matchmaking was done on the server side and does not require an extra download to your Xbox One. This is our top priority and will keep everyone updated regularly as we deploy continued improvements."

The Nov. 12 update on the side of servers improved the matchmaking times for several users. However, there were other users who still saw longer than the expected times.

Additional server updates were deployed later in the evening aimed at enhancing searching times and increasing the players' chances in looking for games. More players would be able to enter matches, thereby resulting in larger team sizes. One example would be the larger 5v5 as opposed to 4v4. At times, this results in the creation of uneven teams, which the company will continue to resolve.

"We have also confirmed that stats and achievements are not registering, and we are working with the Xbox Live team to ensure that these issues are resolved as quickly as possible," added Halo Waypoint.

Back-end data shows that most of the successful matchmakings are accomplished in a matter of 2-4 minutes of the time spent for searching. If a match is not found yet within five minutes, the player is advised to return to the lobby and relaunch his search. Doing so would reset his search parameters and could increase his chances of finding a match based on the determined range.

Other features of the update include game specific issues in Halo:CE, Halo 2, Halo 2: Anniversary and more. Players would get the full patch notes, which will be posted later this week.

"This week's content update, which was originally scheduled for release this Wednesday, Nov. 19, will now be releasing later this week to allow for additional fixes, as well as the completion of the testing and certification process," said Microsoft.
