Apple is reportedly looking to release three new iPhones in 2017, dubbed the iPhone 7s, the iPhone 7s Plus, and the iPhone 8.

Plenty of specs and features of the Apple smartphones have leaked and offered a glimpse into what the handsets may bring consumers' way.

However, the Cupertino-based company is always reluctant to make the memory specifications of its devices known. So, while most other OEMs advertise that their products have 2 GB of RAM or 4 GB of RAM, Apple has never been forthcoming about the memory capacity of its devices, be it iPhones or iPads.

A new report, however, suggests that the three impending iPhones will each house 3 GB of RAM.

iPhone 8, iPhone 7s Plus, and iPhone 7s: 3 GB Of RAM On The Cards?

According to a research note from Timothy Arcuri, a Cowen and Company analyst, the three smartphones will include 3 GB of RAM. Arcuri compiled the research note in March. He based his analysis on studies of Apple's supply chains.

Arcuri's analysis indicates that the 4.7-inch iPhone 7s, which is the upgraded model of the iPhone 7, will get increased RAM when compared to its predecessor.

The iPhone 7 Plus boasts 3 GB of RAM and, therefore, it is not surprising that its successor, the iPhone 7s Plus, would house the same.

If Arcuri's assessments are correct, then the upcoming 10th anniversary edition of the iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 8 or iPhone X, will also house 3 GB of RAM.

However, Apple fans are seldom interested in the RAM specifications and this revelation, even if true, would most likely not affect the anticipation that has built up regarding these devices.

Storage Capability Rumor

Arcuri also revealed what he thought was the most likely storage option for each of the three smartphones.

"The 4.7"/5.5" will likely have the same storage options as the current iPhone 7/7+ in 32/128/256GB," revealed an excerpt from the research note.

This news may disappoint fans who were expecting the minimum storage option to be 64 GB in the two upgraded devices. However, it must be asserted that this is just an estimation from Arcuri and Apple may surprise consumers with a new storage option.

Arcuri also noted that the 5.8-inch iPhone 8 would most probably come with two storage options — 64 GB and 256 GB. This assertion is consistent with previous leaks and rumored specs.

2017 iPhones To Have Lightning Connector?

Arcuri estimates that it is likely that all three 2017 iPhones would continue using the Lightning connectors and will not shift to a USB type-C port for the power cord as rumored. In this regard, the analyst seems to reflect the views put forward by KGI Securities' analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is quite reliable when it comes to Apple products.

Arcuri also mentioned extended battery life support in the iPhone 8 due to "two packs of batteries." However, it is not clear what he meant by this statement.
