The HTC One X10 has leaked on several occasions recently and it's now official, with a neat focus on battery life.

HTC has fallen behind rivals in recent years and it's been trying to relive its glory days for a good while now, but its latest flagships didn't really impress that much. After launching the powerful HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play, the company is back with a new smartphone, targeting the midrange segment this time.

HTC just unveiled the One X9 successor in Russia, launching the new HTC One X10 midranger at roughly $355 based on current conversion rates. The main highlight of the smartphone is its extended battery life, as it packs a 4,000 mAh unit that should last for two days on a single charge.

The new HTC One X10 is all set to go on sale this month in Russia, coming in black and silver color options, albeit there's no information yet on a global release. HTC should launch the smartphone in more markets worldwide, but has yet to announce specific details.

HTC One X10 Specs

The new HTC One X10 midranger sports a 5.5-inch full HD Super LCD display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels at a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch and Gorilla Glass protection on top for extra scratch resistance.

Under the hood, the handset packs an octa-core MediaTek P10 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM, which should ensure a fast and smooth performance. Other specs include 32 GB of onboard storage space, expandable up to 2 TB via microSD, dual SIM support (nano SIMs, both 4G-enabled), HTC BoomSound, fingerprint scanner, and fast charging.

In the camera department, the HTC One X10 features a 16-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, BSI focus and LED flash, as well as a number of features such as face detection, RAW format support, HTC Zoe camera, Pro mode for manual settings, Panorama, and Hyperlapse. On the front, the handset comes with an 8-megapixel selfie cam with an f/2.2 aperture, fixed focus, and BSI sensor. Connectivity options include 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n (dual-band, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), GPS, GLONASS, DLNA, and Miracast.

The smartphone's 4,000 mAh battery should provide up to 26 hours of talk time and up to 31 days in standby on 3G. One the software side of things, the HTC One X10 runs Android (unspecified version) with HTC Sense on top.

HTC One X10 Release

All in all, the HTC One X10 is not an utterly powerful handset, but it's not designed to compete at the high end of the smartphone market. Instead, it's positioned as an affordable midranger with good specs and features at a budget-friendly price point for what it has to offer.

To get a better idea of what the HTC One X10 has to offer, head over to the official product page (translated) and check it out. The smartphone should make its way to more countries worldwide soon enough, but we're still waiting on HTC to confirm exact details on the global release.

As always, we'll keep you in the loop as soon as more information hits the surface. What do you think about the new HTC One X10? Would you get one, or would you rather opt for some other midranger? Let us know in the comments section below.
