Black Friday is just around the corner, and buyers are preparing for it by preemptively hunting down the best deals for the items that they want to acquire.

Smartphones are almost always at the top of the lists of customers for their purchase targets. With Black Friday 2014 featuring newly released devices such as Apple's iPhone 6 and Samsung's Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4, buyers will be trying to track down the best deals for these devices.

Best Buy

At Best Buy, the 16 GB version of the iPhone 6 can be purchased for only $99 on contract, which is $100 off the regular price. The contract can be purchased for AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. However, shoppers looking to avail of this price will first have to trade in a working iPhone, which will be replaced with a Best Buy gift card that will be worth a minimum of $100.

The Galaxy S5 can be purchased at Best Buy for only $1, with a two-year contract on AT&T, Verizon or Sprint.

The Galaxy Note 4, on the other hand, can be purchased for zero-down by "well qualified buyers" under the AT&T NEXT plan. Alternately, customers can sign up for a two-year contract with AT&T, Verizon or Sprint. Best Buy will also include a $50 gift card.

Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart will be selling the 16 GB iPhone 6 for only $104. However, customers will first have to pay $179, $75 of which will be refunded through a $75 Wal-Mart gift card. The deal is only available for AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.

Wal-Mart will also be offering a similar deal for Android smartphones on Black Friday, with a gift card worth $100 given to buyers upon purchase of select Android smartphones, which could increase to $200 if the customer trades in a smartphone. The Galaxy S5 will be offered by Wal-Mart for $99 with a two-year contract.

Target

At Target, the 16 GB iPhone 6 can be bought for $149 as it comes with an instant rebate of $30 through a gift card at Target. The other models of the smartphone will come with an instant rebate of $49 through the same gift card. The deals are available for AT&T, Verizon and Sprint contracts.

The Galaxy S5, however, will be sold for only 1 cent in limited quantities at Target with a two-year contract on AT&T, Verizon or Spring.

RadioShack

RadioShack will be offering the Galaxy S5 for zero-down with a qualifying two-year contract with AT&T, Verizon or Sprint.

Noticeable among the Black Friday deals is that there are no options for customers to avail of the promos with T-Mobile contracts. This is because T-Mobile has decided to release special deals on their own, without teaming up with retail stores.
