If it seems to you that everyone is wishing for an Apple product this Christmas, then it isn't just you. Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod and MacBook are indeed in demand this holiday season, according to an analysis of tweets by Piper Jaffray.

Piper Jaffray's senior research analyst Gene Munster shared, Tuesday, his analysis of 25,000 tweets that are directed at user handle @Santa and contains the hashtag #WishList. It shows that the iPhone is the most mentioned item in the context of wish list for Santa, followed by Sony's PS4 and the iPad.

Although analyzing tweets may not get the same customer intent data as a formal targeted survey, the result of the Twitter survey hints a strong holiday shopping demand for Apple products among consumers who are tech savvy enough to own and manage a Twitter account.

Munster also acknowledges that the brief Twitter analysis is a mere snapshot of the larger market but says he views the data as positive for Apple this holiday shopping season.

"We would also note that the list encapsulates items that consumers want if money were no object," Munster writes. "Although this doesn't directly measure sales, we view the data as a positive, knowing that consumers continue to look to Apple products as the most desirable holiday gift."

Here is the list of the most mentioned devices on a wish list tweeted to @Santa.

Apple's iPhone accounted for only 0.49 percent of the tweets studied but it emerged as the top holiday gift wish list on Twitter. PS4 came in second with 0.34 percent but other Apple products such as the iPad, Macbook and Ipod made it to the top ten.

A majority 34.5 percent of the tweets were sent out by users who are between 18-21 years old while 29.9 percent of the tweets came from users who are in between the ages 14 and 17. The rest of the tweets were sent by users who are between 22 and 25 years old (21.8 percent), 26 and 29 years old (9.2 percent), and 30 years old and above (4.5 percent).
