Whether you have experienced Black Friday firsthand or have just heard about what goes down on TV or the Internet, you know that the day after Thanksgiving has quite the reputation. And that reputation is chaos.

Major retailers preview their deals weeks in advance. People leave their Thanksgiving festivities early or wake up in the middle of the night to line up outside of stores for hours. And then once you enter the store, it's a battleground of who can get to the merch first and score the best deals. Pride, money and completing your holiday shopping are all on the line.

All of this should sound familiar, because this is basically what happens in The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins' book trilogy-turned-movie centered on a dystopian future where the children of the nation Panem fight to the death in the title event. For years, people have joked that Black Friday is The Hunger Games come to life. Now we have undeniable proof that it is.

The folks at Bard Tales Productions have created a spot-on spoof of both Black Friday and The Hunger Games. In this nearly 10-minute short film, heroine Kashliss Everlean volunteers to participate in The Black Friday Games where youngsters fight to the death so only one can reign supreme in scoring some awesome deals from The Corporation's megastore.

In this parody, Thanksgiving is now called "Black Friday's Eve," the meaning of the holiday is to give thanks for The Corporation's "phenomenal sales and tremendous values" and no one, no matter how sweet or kind they are, will stand in the way of a good deal. Also in one of the more poignant moments of the short, a character named Peetsa Malarkey says, "The savings aren't even that great. They'll be around for another week, or we can just wait and go online Monday. It's not worth dying for." Some of that might ring a bell.

Check out the full video below. It will either get you pumped for Black Friday shopping or convince you to never step foot in a store again.
