With Amazon Prime Day just around the corner, Google has launched an offer that will try to steal the annual event's thunder.

The Amazon Echo is expected to be one of the biggest sellers in Amazon Prime Day. In a bid to attract shoppers to another smart home device, Google teamed up with eBay for a Google Home bundle that might be able to make customers rethink their purchasing plans.

Google Home Bundle For $99

Google is offering a Google Home bundle on eBay that includes the Google Assistant-powered smart speaker and the Chromecast media streaming device for only $99.

The Google Home smart speaker carries a retail price of $129, while the Chromecast has an original price of $35. These two devices add up to $164, but the eBay bundle offers a $65 discount.

Google Home is a smart speaker powered by Google Assistant, similar to how the Amazon Echo is powered by Alexa. Users can activate the two devices through voice commands, launching tasks such as searching for information or placing orders for products. Google Chromecast, meanwhile, is a media device that streams video content right into the user's TV that also recently added the function to share virtual reality experiences from the Samsung Gear VR headset.

The Google Home bundle, however, only comes in limited quantities, and at the time of writing, nearly 2,000 units have already been sold. If you have any plans of taking advantage of the offer, right now would be a good time to send in your order.

Is The Bundle Good Enough To Keep Customers Away From The Amazon Echo?

Google and eBay launched the $99 Google Home bundle in an effort to fight back against what is largely expected as another lucrative day for Amazon, as Amazon Prime Day rakes in unbelievable sales every year.

The question, however, is whether the bundle will be good enough to even make a dent in Amazon's earnings for Amazon Prime Day.

Google Home, compared to Amazon Echo, is a smarter device with superior voice recognition capabilities and access to the top-ranked search algorithms of Google. However, for customers who often shop on Amazon, the Amazon Echo is the clear choice.

Amazon Prime Day kicks off July 10, 9:00 p.m. ET. For customers looking to purchase a smart speaker, will you take advantage of the annual event to pick up an Amazon Echo, or is the Google Home with the $99 bundle a better choice?
