If you want to play the Destiny 2 closed beta early without a code or having to preorder the game on the PS4 for free, then you're in luck.

The thing is, you're going to have to go through a couple of hoops to get this to work. Fortunately, it's almost as easy as 1-2-3 — emphasis on "almost."

How To Join The 'Destiny 2' Beta

Step 1: Create a new PSN account on your console and set your home country to either Hong Kong, Japan, or Singapore. Take note this step is important.

Step 2: Get a legit address to use in the country you picked. Needless to say, Google will do wonders in this step.

Step 3: Fill out the form, which is in a different language but more or less in the same order as the English version.

Step 4: Set up an email address you can use for confirmation purposes.

Pro tip: If you use Gmail, you can just add "+[country]" at the end of your own email address. That way, you'd receive the confirmation in the same email you use. Just to be clear, what you want to do here is to key in something like this: destiny2beta+Japan@gmail.com.

Step 5: After the confirmation, sign in to your account and make your way to the PS Store and download the Destiny 2 beta.

Destiny 2 Beta Details

Working around the Destiny 2 beta might seem a lot of effort to some, and that's no problem. The official open beta is about to kick off on July 21 at 10 a.m. PDT or 1 p.m. EDT, after all.

There's no solid date for the PC beta yet, though, but it's scheduled to go live sometime in August.

To no one's surprise, the beta is pretty much filled with bugs at the moment, notably the Termite and Moose errors. At any rate, it's good to know that Bungie is quick with a fix for every instance.

In other related news, a player lost his Bungie account when they were linking it to Battle.net, so that's one thing to be on the lookout for.

To boil things down, those who want to play the Destiny 2 beta can join in on the fun even without a code or preorder, thanks to this clever method.

That said, it's not anything new, though. Gamers have been using it in the past for other titles, such as Call of Duty.

Now with all said and done, are you as excited as we are for the full launch of Destiny 2? If so, feel free to hit us up in the comments section below and let us know.
