Ladies and gentlemen, Disney is working on Frozen 2, but don't get too surprised because this was expected to happen due to the success of the first film. This is great news for fans of the film and all the toys that came after, along with the popular theme song.

Frozen star, Idina Menzel, broke the news to the Telegraph recently during an interview. She said the rumored sequel is currently in the works, but from what we get from the interview; Disney could just be in the planning stages because the studio did not contact her as yet to reprise her role as Elsa.

Not much is known about the film but we are confident that Elsa will return, because in our minds there can't be a Frozen without the Snow Queen herself. However, this doesn't mean Disney is obligated to reprise Idina Menzel, so fans of the actress should keep their fingers crossed because business relationships do fall sour time and again.

Furthermore, we should point out that Frozen the Broadway musical is also in the planning stages, so fans of will have a lot of Frozen to watch in the coming months. There's also an animated short called Frozen Fever coming in 2015, a clear sign that Disney is going to milk this into a franchise, and who can blame the Mickey Mouse factory from going down this route.

For those who are unaware, Frozen is the most successful animated film in history. The movie's budget was $150 million; though it went on to make $1.274 billion globally. This is a huge feat, and Frozen 2 is definitely in the perfect position to surpass that number, especially since the song "Let it Go" is so popular among children and adults alike.

Folks will be returning to the theaters just to see if Disney is capable of whipping up another successful musical that will have another great song for everyone to sing along to.

At the moment, we have no idea when Disney plans to launch Frozen 2. However, chances are the studio will begin production in 2015, and be ready for release in theaters by sometime in 2016.
