Retro gamers looking for an alternative to Nintendo's SNES Classic Edition for playing SNES games now have another reason to buy the $189 Analogue Super Nt.

In the updated version of the dedicated Analogue Super Nt page, Analogue revealed that every unit of the retro console will come packaged with an unreleased version of Super Turrican, the run-and-gun classic that was released in 1993.

The Story Behind 'Super Turrican: Director's Cut'

Super Turrican for the SNES quickly shot up in popularity due to the intense side-scrolling action that it offers. However, the game that was rolled out over 20 years ago was not the complete version of Super Turrican.

Factor 5 originally designed Super Turrican to be released in a 6 MB cartridge. However, one of the company's developers, Julian Eggebrecht, said that publisher Seika did not want to spend extra money on the necessary ROM chips for such cartridges. As such, Factor 5 had to reduce the size of Super Turrican to 4 MB.

Fans of Super Turrican will finally get to see the game as it was supposed to be launched through the digital copies of Super Turrican: Director's Cut that will be included in all units of the Analogue Super Nt. The unreleased version of the game contains a lot of content within that extra 2 MB, specifically a new final level, music, and enemies, along with improved graphics and sound effects.

In addition to Super Turrican: Director's Cut embedded in each Analogue Super Nt, Super Turrican 2 will also be included in the retro console. Analogue will also include a SNES cartridge-style box for Super Turrican: Director's Cut with every purchase of the Analogue Super Nt.

Another Reason To Buy The Analogue Super Nt

The inclusion of Super Turrican: Director's Cut in the Analogue Super Nt mimics the move of Nintendo, which packaged the unreleased Star Fox 2 into the SNES Classic Edition.

The $189 Analogue Super Nt is compatible with all SNES and Super Famicom cartridges, as well as with all the accessories for the two consoles. The device was engineered with a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) chip, which means that the Analogue Super Nt will not be emulating the games, but will rather be recreated SNES systems themselves.

The Analogue Super Nt offers players the ability to control resolutions, aspect ratios, and other visual aspects. It also comes with an SD card slot that will soon allow the device to run more games, and even titles on other consoles.
