Facebook has become a cultural meterstick of sorts. Everything from selfies to stories about current events finds a place in the most-loved and hated website. But when it comes to the most talked-about thing on the popular social media platform, you may be surprised to find that the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was not the most popular topic.

On Tuesday, Facebook released its Year in Review list that uncovered the most talked-about news, celebs and pop culture topics. As the year comes to an end, let's take a stroll down memory lane to see what people were talking about the most.

The only topic that was talked-about more than the Ice Bucket Challenge was the Ebola virus outbreak in America. Robin Williams, Super Bowl and Michael Brown/ Ferguson rounded out the top 5 in the U.S.
