Based on the number of 4K-ready devices available in the market, it seems that the tech and entertainment industry has adapted to the resolution shift.

Now that 4K-capable displays have gone mainstream and prices have gone down compared to previous years, consumers are currently interested to make the upgrade. For users to enjoy the new content format, they must consider devices that are equipped to handle and process the new resolution.

Apparently, Sony knows and wants people to consider the PS4 Pro with its new commercial complete with opera music.

Fierce Competition

The gaming industry knows that visuals mean everything when it comes to next-generation titles. Microsoft might be aggressively pushing for 4K adoption through its 4K-packed Xbox One X. However, the Japanese Electronics company has the advantage of having more exclusive titles in its lineup as well as a 4K-ready PlayStation 4 Pro.

The Xbox One X might technically boast an advantage in terms of hardware and other capabilities. Unfortunately, the lack of stellar first-party titles and support from other third-party publishers have left the console behind its competitors.

Great Games Matter

Software matters when it comes to popularity as demonstrated by the Nintendo Switch. The hybrid game system obviously has inferior visuals compared to other current-generation consoles, but it makes up for it with great games.

This can be seen with Sony's approach with their new ad for the PS4 Pro. Instead of focusing on the 4K graphics, which is the highlight of the game console, the opera-themed video was instead showcasing the latest and upcoming games like Monster Hunter World, Far Cry 5, and the eagerly-anticipated God of War.

The company still has other exclusive titles that were not shown during the TV spot such as Spider-Man from Insomniac Games and The Last of Us Part 2 from Naughty Dog. Meanwhile, Microsoft only has third-party games that are also available for other consoles, which hardly gives consumers a reason to opt for the Xbox One X over the Switch or PlayStation 4.

Flaunting Its Software

While the PS4 Pro TV ad rocks with amusing opera music, a couple of scenes showcases Capcom's Monster Hunter World. The game launched alongside another anticipated game, Dragon Ball FighterZ, on Jan 26. The latter is also reportedly one of the best fighting games to come out this year, according to gamers.

The team-based creature-slaying role-playing game has received rave reviews from critics. Its success has been credited to its jump from portable gaming devices to better visuals and adjusted gameplay on current-generation consoles.

With the PS4 Pro and its 4K capabilities, one can just imagine the boost in graphical quality and flair on a 4K-ready display.
