Niantic officially announces the details of the third Pokémon GO Community Day, which will take place later this month.

Pokémon GO stirred a great frenzy worldwide when it launched back in the summer of 2016. However, the hype eventually died down and some players quit the game.

Niantic then launched a number of special events that sparked more interest in the game, and it's constantly looking for new ways to keep players engaged.

Pokémon Go Community Day Events

The company tried to host a big Pokémon GO Fest last year but it turned out to be a bust, and it even fueled some lawsuits, so it came up with a different approach: Community Days.

The first Pokemon GO Community Day was on January 20, the second recently took place on Feb. 24, and the third one will be on March 25. Each Community Day brings a special Pokémon that knows an "exclusive move" when captured during the event.

Third 'Pokémon GO' Community Day Brings Bulbasaur

Niantic also throws in other treats such as increased XP, more Stardust, and longer Lure Modules. For the third Pokémon GO Community Day event, the special Pokémon will be a Green-type Bulbasaur.

No details are currently available on the exclusive move Bulbasaur will rock, but it will be a "previously unavailable move" for the pocket monster or its evolution.

"Note: Fast TMs and Charged TMs will not grant exclusive moves during Community Day," the Pokémon GO team explains. "To learn the exclusive move, you must catch or evolve the featured Pokémon during Community Day hours."

The event will span over three hours on March 25, from 2 PM EST (11 AM PST) to 5 PM EST (2 PM PST). Bulbasaur will have greater spawn rates during the event, and players will earn triple XP when capturing a Pokémon. Just like in other such events, the Lure Modules will last for three hours.

Niantic did not offer more information at this point, but it will likely unveil more details on its website in the days leading up to the event. Until then, Pokémon GO players still have some exciting captures to make. Legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon are up for grabs until March 5 while Rayquaza is available until March 16.

Community Days aim to bring Pokémon GO players closer together, meeting new people and making new friends each month. The first two Pokémon GO Community Day events have been well-received and the third one is expected to be exciting as well.
