Samsung is in for another round of leaks as sources unveil the Galaxy J7 Duo. The documents confirm Bixby and a dual-camera setup.

The new device was actually revealed a few weeks ago, thanks to the FCC as it documented a handset with the model number SM-J720F. The model number implies that this particular model is intended to be a mid-range unit that sits between the Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7.

Apparently, the user manual does not only reveal the details about its camera and voice assistant, it also includes other functions and features.

Possible Hint Of A Returning Feature

While some of the listed features are expected from the South Korean manufacturer's mid-tier models, something caught the attention of Galaxy users everywhere. Surprisingly, the upcoming mobile phone features a removable battery, which is strangely not available on the other models in the same catalog.

Analysts quickly speculated that it could be a hint that future models might carry removable batteries all over again. It has become one of the most requested features after the company opted to do away with the feature.

Design And Layout

The mid-range models follow a certain design that is considered familiar to longtime users of Samsung phones. As expected, the Galaxy J7 Duo copies the same design with few changes compared to its siblings.

A quick look at the rear panel shows a dual-sensor configuration that is positioned horizontally. Most mid-rangers stick with a single main camera and focus on gimmicks with its front-facing units instead.

The main camera module is flanked by a LED flash on the left and a loudspeaker on the right. The rear cover is removable via a small notch on one of the edges and underneath lies the removable battery, SIM card slot, and microSD card slot.

The front features a physical home button that also functions as its fingerprint sensor with two capacitive buttons on each side. The touch screen measures 5.5-inches and comes with a 1280 x 720 display resolution and is presumably an AMOLED panel.

Hardware And Imaging

Samsung has yet to disclose the finer details of the new Galaxy J7 Duo, but sources started to speculate about its components and camera. Its selfie shooter is rumored to be an 8-megapixel unit with a dedicated LED flash.

Meanwhile, the dual cameras on its back should come with a 5-megapixel and 13-megapixel combination. The additional sensor reportedly enables Live Focus, giving photos a bokeh effect.

Its processor should be Samsung's own Exynos 7885, which is the same processor used for the Galaxy A8 and A8+. Moreover, the absence of a dedicated Bixby button suggests that the device might feature Bixby Home and Reminder.

The official price and release date for Samsung J7 Duo are not yet available but are expected to be announced soon.
