Netflix is adding a slew of new titles this May, with most of them dropping on May 1. Here are five must-watch titles.

Coco

Coco is a light-hearted, music-filled Pixar title featuring the young dreamer Miguel Rivera (voiced by Anthony Gonzales), who wants to be like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt), a world-renowned singer from Miguel's hometown. Through a series of events that led him to be a living ghost, he is spirited away to the Land of the Dead in the midst of Día de Muertos. He sets on to find Ernesto de la Cruz, who holds the key to his safe return.

Coco has been nominated for several awards, winning some of them, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Animated in 2018. Those who are interested will have to wait for almost a whole month as it is arriving on Netflix on May 29.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Hellboy II: The Golden Army is a 2007 American superhero film featuring Ron Perlman reprising his role as the titular character. It is a sequel to the 2004 film Hellboy. Both films were directed by Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim).

The movie pits Hellboy, Liz (Selma Blair), and Abe Sapien (Doug Jones) against Prince Nuada of the underworld, who plans to take over Earth for his kind. Hellboy II is coming on May 1.

Shrek

Shrek is a hit classic animated film released in 2001. It is loosely based on a tale by William Steig, featuring an inversion of the roles of humans and ogres.

The story follows the ogre Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) as the hero, tasked to retrieve the human princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) from the dragon. His life of solitude, which he enjoyed, is suddenly filled with fairy tale characters, including a talking donkey (Eddie Murphy).

Shrek is coming to Netflix on May 1.

Bridge to Terabithia

The 2007 film Bridge to Terabithia stars young Josh Hutcherson as Jesse and AnnaSophia Robb as Leslie. The two children find a friend in each other and invent an imaginary world called Terabithia where they rule as king and queen. Soon, one of the two will be forced to turn to the imaginary kingdom to draw the strength to deal with a tragedy.

The movie is based on the book of the same name by Katherine Paterson. It is going live on Netflix on May 19.

Amélie

Amélie is a French comedy film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. It stars actress Audrey Tautou as Amélie, a woman who obsesses with the people around her. She discreetly orchestrates the lives of these people, allowing her to resort to her own created world.

Amélie was nominated for five Academy Awards and bagged the Best Film Award at the European Film Festival, among other awards. The highly-rated movie arrives on May 1.
