Justin Bieber has had enough. The singer is officially getting out of the limelight or at least that was what his first tweet on Christmas Eve said.

"My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring," the 19 year old singer tweeted to his nearly 48 million followers on Christmas Eve. The message was retweeted more than 311,000 times and solicited comments online.

The Canadian teen idol, however, sent out follow-up tweets that contradicted the first message and blamed the media for the confusion. "The media talks a lot about me," he said. "They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle."

Bieber then tweeted a trailer of his movie "Justin Bieber's Believe" which opened in U.S. theaters on Christmas Day before greeting his fans and assuring them he will stay forever.

"Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER," he tweeted.

This isn't the first time that Bieber has announced his plan to retire. During an interview with an L.A radio station on December 17, the singer said he wanted to leave the business. "I'm actually retiring, man... I'm just gonna take some time. I think I'm probably gonna quit music," he said during the interview.

Both Gossip Cop and E! Online dismissed Bieber's statement as a joke but Scooter Braun, Bieber's manager told Ryan Seacrest the next day that the singer needs time for himself.

"I'm telling him after this movie, I want him to take next year off and just take a break and he can still live in the studio and work on the next album, which is what he wants to do, but I just want him to take some time to himself, so he can have that time alone 'cause he's been working since he was 12 years old," Braun said.

Bieber's first tweet may have clouded his fans' Christmas but there are those who welcomed the news of the singer's early retirement.

"This is really great news. This couldn't have come soon enough for me. I am so sick of this spoiled, self entitled brat. Merry Christmas to me," a comment read on TMZ.
