Sony unveiled the free PlayStation Plus games for June 2018, headlined by XCOM 2 and Trials Fusion for the PlayStation 4.

The new free PS Plus games will be available for download on June 5. However, for this month, gamers are more likely looking forward to something else.

Free PlayStation Plus Games For June 2018

In an official PlayStation Blog post, Sony revealed the free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for June 2018.

Leading off the lineup are XCOM 2 and Trials Fusion for the PlayStation 4. XCOM 2 is a turn-based strategy game where players lead a team of soldiers in the fight against the aliens who have occupied the Earth. Meanwhile, Trials Fusion is a platform racing game where players can try to beat the records set by other players across the world.

For the PlayStation 3, the free games for June 2018 are Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, a futuristic entry in the Ghost Recon series, and Zombie Driver HD, a vehicular combat game. For the PlayStation Vita, players will be able to download multiplayer platformer Atomic Ninjas and reflex puzzler Squares.

PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita owners should take advantage of the free downloads, as PlayStation Plus members will no longer receive free games for these two platforms starting March 2019.

While waiting for the June 5 launch date of the new lineup, subscribers will still be able to download the free PlayStation Plus games for May 2018. This month's offering is headlined by Rayman Legends and Beyond: Two Souls for the PlayStation 4.

The best month for PlayStation Plus subscribers so far this year remains to be March, when the massively popular but notoriously difficult Bloodborne was offered as a free download.

E3 2018 Coming Soon

PlayStation 4 owners are likely looking forward to E3 2018, which will be held in Los Angeles, California, from June 12 to June 14.

According to the E3 2018 floor plan, Sony and Nintendo will be occupying the biggest spaces at the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center, signaling huge plans for the two companies.

The Sony E3 2018 Showcase will focus on four highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusives, namely Death Stranding, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us Part II. Sony, however, will not be unveiling any new hardware at E3 2018. This means that there will be no surprise PlayStation 5 announcement despite Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO John Kodera recently saying that the PlayStation 4 life cycle is entering its final phase.
