Apple is about to increase its content library. The technology company will join forces with Oprah Winfrey to enhance Apple users' experience.

A Brand-New Partnership

Apple signed an undisclosed multiyear deal with the former host of The Oprah Winfrey Show. The current president of the Oprah Winfrey Network is expected to create content that would be used to be aired exclusively on Apple products. Insiders between both parties have noted that this new contract would bring Apple customers a chance to have access to exclusive content.

Insiders believe that the content could include film, television shows, books, and apps. It was also noted that Harpo Productions, Winfrey's production company, is expected to own the content that will be a part of Apple's new content library. Media aficionados also believe that Apple signing the 18-time Daytime Emmy Winning television personality would help Apple expand its audience.

Oprah Activities

Insiders state that the contract that the Weight Watchers investor and board member signed with Apple is non-exclusive. Winfrey is expected to oversee OWN as its president. CNN reported that the Selma actress extended her contract with Discovery Communications-backed network that will keep it on until 2025. While Winfrey exclusively appears on OWN for on-camera productions, abettors believe that the talk show veteran and current 60 Minutes special correspondent might have opportunities to appear in Apple content.

"Together, Winfrey and Apple will create original programs that embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world," said Apple on the company's newsroom website.

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that this announcement coincides that OWN favorite Super Soul Sunday became Apple's top podcast. Winfrey is not the only celebrity that Apple has recruited to create exclusive content for the technology company. Last year, Apple hired Octavia Spencer, Kevin Durant, and two of Winfrey's former collaborators, The Color Purple director Steven Spielberg and A Wrinkle in Time costar Reese Witherspoon, to create new projects.
