Archos has announced the release of a slew of Bluetooth LE-enabled devices that are scheduled to get an unveiling at the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas.

The French company said these Bluetooth LE-enabled devices will support Android as well as iOS.

However, the most interesting part from the company's announcement is the "selection of smartwatches" at an extremely affordable price that it plans to introduce. These smartwatches will feature a "pebble-like design" and will start at under £50 (roughly around $82).

"Watches will embrace simplicity and function, a Pebble-like design and compatibility with both iOS and Android devices," read the press release.

For Pebble, which is considered as the current leader in the smartwatch market, having sold around 300,000 units to date, the announcement may seem disconerting as the Archos smartwatch is nearly half the price of Pebble, which retails at $150.

Archos also plans to unveil a tablet, scale, weather system, activity tracker and blood pressure monitor at the 4-day technology event. The 7-inch Archos Smart Home Android tablet will come with a complimentary Smart Home app, which will work in conjunction for managing "connected homes".

The Archos Weather Station will have the ability to churn out data like CO2 levels, temperature, humidity, national and local weather reports and even historical comparisons.

The Activity Tracker calculates "daily footsteps, calories burned and automatically displays time when synchronised with a smartphone," while the Blood Pressure Monitor is equipped with memory for over 40 different measurements, displays heart beat information, comes with irregular heart beat detector and can filter data by time period (morning, day, night).

"Mobile devices have become the center of our life and our demand for instant access to information creates the need for even more interconnectivity," said Loic Poirier, CEO of ARCHOS. "ARCHOS' new lineup of connected objects exemplifies the ability to share and access information and represents our vision of creating a universe where all devices complement and work together."

The entire range of ARCHOS connected devices will be showcased at 2014 International CES at Central Hall, Booth #9844 in Las Vegas.
