Apple may release a so-called iPad Pro, which is expected to come not only with a larger screen and an improved resolution, but also is expected to be equipped with an eye-tracking technology.

According to reports, the much speculated iPad Pro will combine the functionalities of Apple's iPad Line and its Macbook Pro series. The device will also feature a much improved resolution and could sport an eye-tracking technology.

The rumored tablet is said to feature 2K display. The 2K display will be released in the first version of the device but another version with a 4K display will also come up. As of now, the iPad Air already has a display resolution of 2048x1536 pixels which qualifies as 2K display. In fact, it's only a matter of calling it Retina or 2K. The bigger challenge for Apple is actually on giving the iPad Pro a 4K resolution, while keeping it as thin and mobile as the iPad Air. Samsung's UHD TV, which went on sale late 2013, had resolution of 3840x2160 pixels. The folks at Apple may be upping the notch a bit by creating a handheld device with a display that has the same range of resolution.

Reports also say that Retina technology will be removed from the next line of iPads. Analysts say that Apple will do away with the Retina to increase resolution since the latest iPads fall short in terms of resolution when compared to its low priced competitors such as Amazon's Kindle Fire HDX.

Despite success of its iPad mini line, and while most of its competitors focus on the production of 7 and 8-inch tablets, Apple has reportedly set its eyes on creating a 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Apparently, some consumers also think there is indeed a market for bigger tablets.

Reports suggest that the alleged iPad Pro may be released this fall but other sources say the company may release the device in Winter of 2014 or Spring of 2015.
