Flamethrower supplier Throwflame has taken the wraps off the TF-19 Wasp, a flamethrower attachment for drones.

Needless to say, consumers can easily turn their drones into flying flamethrowers, thanks to the accessory of sorts.

Fire-Breathing Drones

As Throwflame says on its website, the TF-19 Wasp can burn targets up to 25 feet away and shoot flames up to 100 seconds with its one-gallon fuel capacity.

To be clear, it's just the attachment, so users will still need a drone of their own to get it up in the air. According to the specifications sheet, it's compatible with drones that can carry at least five pounds and that the company's preferred model is the DJI S1000.

On that note, Throwflame tells The Verge that it used a DJI S1000 for its video for the TF-19 Wasp (as seen below). It explains that it equipped the drone with an A2 flight controller, a 6S LiPo battery with a 16,000 mAh capacity, and a TBS Tango RC remote.

It also says that it offers customized drones for the TF-19 Wasp that costs $1,000 or more depending on the devices' specifications, such as flight speed and time.

More Than A Gimmick ... Or Killing Machine

Drones and flamethrowers might not seem like a good mix, but as the company explains, a flamethrower-equipped drone has its uses. It can be used to clear power lines, remote agriculture burns, and pest management such as burning wasp nests, for instance.

As Boing Boing lists down, it can also be used for pyrotechnic shows, movie props, and ice and snow removal, among other things.

The TF-19 Wasp is available on the Throwflame website with a $1,499 price tag, and it comes with free shipping in the United States. At that, the cost could easily rack up, since the attachment itself and just about any other component to make the whole thing work isn't exactly cheap.
