When Nicole Kidman joined Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show for the first time on Tuesday, the two told very different versions of the story of the first time they met. And things got awkward fast.

Fallon remembers being nervous and excited to meet the actress when a mutual friend called him to say she would be stopping by his apartment. He believed at the time that the meeting was over a potential movie role for Bewitched.

However, Kidman remembers it as an awkward first date. Coming on the show to promote her new movie Paddington, Kidman confessed that she "liked" Fallon at the time and was interested in possibly dating him. So she found a way to invite herself over, but quickly realized Fallon just wasn't that into her.

"And you didn't talk, at all. And so, after about an hour and a half I thought, 'He has no interest, this is so embarrassing,'" she says.

Turns out Fallon didn't even notice that Kidman was trying to come onto him. Needless to say, he was shocked. 

Kidman's confession caused him to literally fall out of his chair and started a giggle session between the two that lasted the entire adorably awkward interview.
