In a world where 3D printing is slowly becoming the next best thing, Adobe is making sure it will not be left behind. The company made an announcement that states the next update for Adobe Photoshop CC will bring forth the ability to 3D print straight from the software itself. This is a very important aspect in 3D printing, as it has the ability to push the industry forward in a big way.

The ability to 3D print isn't the only aspect of the new update for Adobe Photoshop CC. The company announced new tools such as a new pencil tool for Illustrator, which allows for drawing good looking curves and freehand lines much easier than before. Furthermore, InDesign is getting better support for EPUB and smarter hyperlinks. In addition, Adobe's font tool, Typekit, is bringing its fonts to the desktop, where users can access them from any desktop software and include them in PDF projects and print projects.

Adobe is also resetting all of its 30-day trials for Creative Cloud, as part of the update. This means that anybody who signed up for a trial since March of 2012, can star another 30-day trial. This move could be due to all the changes made to Creative Cloud. Adobe seems to be confident to the point where it will give users another free trial in hopes of gaining customers.

"The new 3D print capabilities in Photoshop CC take the guess work out of printing 3D models for everyone," said Winston Hendrickson, vice president products, Creative Media Solutions, Adobe. "Before today there was a gap between the content produced by 3D modeling tools and what 3D printers need in order to deliver high quality results. Now, by simply clicking 'Print' in Photoshop CC, creatives can bring 3D designs to the physical world."

The art of 3D printing is still not an easy thing, since it takes more than a single software to design and ultimately print an object. However, with both Microsoft and Adobe showing support, hopefully the ease of designing and printing will become a priority soon enough.
