When ABC's Once Upon A Time returns on March 1, expect to see a familiar green face.

That's right, Zelena, otherwise known as the Wicked Witch of the West, is coming back to Storybrooke.

Zelena will appear in flashbacks during this season of the series as Regina continues her hunt for the Author, which will be a major storyline in the last half of season 4. However, there aren't a lot of details about the role Zelena will play, except that she will once more be portrayed by Rebecca Mader.

Regina's search for the Author isn't an easy one, at least according to the actress that portrays her, Lana Parilla.

"This is a quest that has been quite difficult for Regina," says Parilla. "With all the research she's done thus far and Operation Mongoose, she keeps hitting dead end after dead end. She's lost some faith in ever finding this author, but she's still not going to give up."

However, Regina isn't alone in her search. She's now competing with Rumpelstiltskin, aka Mr. Gold, who lost Belle last year after one too many lies. He's also looking for the Author to persuade him to rewrite Storybrooke's villains, perhaps to find his own happy ending. He'll also be teaming up with the three new villainesses introduced in the last episode of the series to help him: Cruella de Vil, Maleficent and Ursula.

It seems that the Rumpelstiltskin and Belle romance is also far from over, too, at least according to a teaser tweet with an image that shows a dagger (representing Rumpelstiltskin) and a rose (representing Belle).

Of course, perhaps the biggest question left remaining is about Regina and Robin Hood. The two finally parted ways in the mid-season finale, but surely their romance isn't over, is it? Series executive producer Eddie Kitsis teased that we haven't seen the last of the couple.

"We haven't seen the end of it," says Kitsis. "The story is just at a middle point and although it seemed final, I would definitely keep watching because there's much more to come."

However, the romance between Captain Hook and Emma Swan should still be going strong when the series returns, but of course, as is always the case, they do have challenges to face. Show creator Adam Horowitz recently said that the two would face "personal obstacles" that will "make things interesting for them."
