T-Mobile customers are in for a sweet taste of Google's latest operating system, Android 5.0 Lollipop. The carrier began rolling out the OS update to Samsung Galaxy S5 owners.

Customers of T-Mobile who have been anticipating the Android 5.0 Lollipop update can finally rejoice, as the carrier released the update to owners of the Galaxy S5 smartphone. Customers report awakening to a sweet treat when they checked their devices -- the huge update of almost a full 1GB was already pushed through to their phones and ready to install.

Owners of the Galaxy S5 on T-Mobile who have not received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update yet should expect to receive it very soon. Those who are anxious, however, can manually check their settings and see if they have an update available.

With T-Mobile customers now receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on their Galaxy S5, three of the four major carriers have now rolled out the latest update to Samsung's flagship smartphone. Verizon was the first to push the update through to Galaxy S5 owners on its network back in early February. Sprint soon followed several days later by pushing the update to Galaxy S5 users on its network.

Now, AT&T stands alone as the only major carrier that has not yet rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to Galaxy S5 owners. Of the 4 big carriers, AT&T typically tends to lag behind when it comes to Android operating system updates on its lineup of devices. For example, even though AT&T was the first carrier to actually carry the Galaxy S5, it was the last to push out the Android KitKat 4.4.4 update to the device, behind Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile. While AT&T has stayed mum on the actual release date of its Android 5.0 Lollipop update, it has assured anxious users that they will in fact be receiving it. The big question of course, is when?
