After what seems like forever, Viola Davis has been confirmed to play Amanda Waller in the 2016 movie, Suicide Squad. We've been waiting for a long time for this official announcement, and we're glad it has finally happened.

Viola Davis is a great actor who comes from several decent movies. Her most notable role is in the TV show, How to Get Away with Murder, but if everything turns out well for Warner Bros. then Suicide Squad could become her biggest and most successful venture yet in the movie business.

For those who are not quite versed in the DC Comics universe, Amanda Waller is the person who runs the Suicide Squad. She select the individuals who are fit enough to be a central part of the team, along with the missions they are tasked with completing.

These missions are usually too dangerous for regular agents, so instead of sending them to their doom, Waller gets her hands on some of the most dangerous criminals to get the job done.

Since these guys are criminals, how can Amanda Waller be certain they will do the job?

Well, she promises them either freedom or a huge decrease in their prison sentence. Furthermore, she plants a small micro bomb in their heads, so should one of them divert from the plan, the bomb will go off, killing this person immediately.

Obviously, these criminals want freedom, and no one wants their head plastered in the middle of a busy highway, so they have no choice but to go ahead with the plan. In many cases, members of the team die during a mission while some attempt to remove the bomb.

In some instances, removing the bomb can be successful, but when it isn't, well, heads fly in a similar fashion to that awesome scene in Kingsman: The Secret Service.

We can't wait to see what Viola Davis brings to the table in Suicide Squad. It is mainly up to writers to determine how awesome she is, and we expect them to give DC fans what they have been waiting for since the dawning of the first comic book.
