Tinkerplay is a new kid-friendly app from Autodesk that helps make creating and printing 3D creations easier and quicker. It doesn't matter if one has no experience in designing or lacks some basic technological know-how. The app allows one to design and experiment with little or even no assistance needed.

There is absolutely no limit in the type and number of designs that one can make. With Tinkerplay, users can choose from a wide array of various 3D character templates such as a ninja or a scorpion. There's also an opportunity to mix and combine templates in order to create a customized 3D object such as a scorpion ninja that has the skin of a dinosaur or a ninja dinosaur that has the tail of a scorpion.

Using the interface is a no-brainer. One can simply drag the different parts around and see how the 3D created character will look like when posed at different angles. The individual pieces can be rotated or modified using different textures. Moreover, the interface supports multitouch gestures, making it easy for one to rotate, pan, and zoom objects.

When one feels ready to print his creation, Tinkerplay will show the number of print runs needed and the approximate time the whole process will take. The app also allows one to envision the movements that one's creation is capable of doing when everything has been printed and has been placed together.
