Activision has released an official trailer for the upcoming Ascendance DLC pack for the acclaimed futuristic first-person shooter Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The trailer provides a good look into the contents of Ascendance, the second DLC pack for the title after Havoc, which was released earlier this year.

A light-hearted tone dominates the trailer, which includes an angry monologue by a cameraman that has been tasked to film the locations and features of the DLC. However, for the cameraman, he only finds his camera at the end of the trailer.

The trailer begins by showing snippets of the four new maps included in Ascendance, a new weapon and the latest installment of the Exo Zombies series.

The trailer then continues with a more detailed look into the gameplay within the four Ascendance maps.

The first map taken a look at is Perplex, which happens in a modular apartment complex where the different parts of the complex are changed around by construction drones. This leads to frenetic gameplay as aprevious passage that the player walked through may not be there in a few seconds as the drones move around the parts of the complex.

Climate follows, which occurs in a mad-made enclosure where the climate is fully controlled. A river that runs through the map, which is initially harmless, becomes unsafe after certain systems go offline.

The next map is the Chop Shop, where gamers find themselves in an industrial complex where taking control of an Advanced Repulsion Turret can spell the difference between victory and failure.

Lastly, the trailer takes a look at Site 244, which is a crash site of an alien spacecraft on Mt. Rushmore. Gamers can pick up and use alien spores to enhance their exo abilities during gameplay to give them an edge over their opponents.

The trailer then provides a glimpse of the OHM-Werewolf, the bonus weapon for Ascendance. Described as a 2-in-1 directed energy LMG/shotgun, the trailer shows off the firepower of the weapon.

Grapple Mode is also featured, which allows gamers to shoot out grappling hooks to reach certain locations faster. The trailer shows players using the grappling hooks to fly across the Ascendance maps for quicker movement, though there is also a scene that shows the grappling hook being used as a weapon.

The trailer then features the new Exo Zombies installment, where a group of Atlas employees are fighting through zombies.

Ascendance will be released on March 31 for Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. The DLC pack can be purchased alone for $15, but is also included in the $49.99 Season Pass for the title.
